Finding most 'news' stories to be hollow propagandistic deceits - I came
to this (above linked) story from a G-news sidebar and felt at least a willingness for
reason.
The notion of wealth subordinated to money, and the notion
of disconnected sense of money from any real relational account, masked
in insanely complex 'instruments' of obfuscation, reflects to me the
current state of 'consciousness on Earth' - or lack thereof - because a
fragmented 'warring' consciousness is a sham - and a shame - with all
the defences and subterfuge of propping up and protecting from exposure.
True
currency must serve and extend a genuine sense of shared worth. False
ideas can only result in a false reality reading and response of a false
sense of self.
War is built into and inherent in our money system -
and our consciousness. The old paradigm 'consciousness' cannot serve as a
true foundation. Look within to see not only the toxic debts of
nothingness pretending to be something - but the complex shenanigans
that serve to hide the truth - not merely from others - but from
ourselves, so that different 'compartments' operate against each other
or unbeknown to each other so as to maintain.... what exactly? Survival
in terms set by conditioned fears and self-guilts. If we don't take a
fresh look now - our prodigal wasteland will bring us to take a fresh
look when it can no longer be denied, re-defined and repackaged and sold
off as if it were a cultural expression of Life on Earth.
Uncovering
and living from a truly felt sense of worth does not preclude any
particular avenue of endeavour and exploration - but will transform or
direct the way of it. If fear of loss is the active foundation - then
expect self-fulfilling prophecies to reinforce the starting premise -
because that is how life works.

The enslavement of the Athenians?
I meditated with this issue today and wrote the following to Laura’s Blog - but received “This message could not be accepted”. So I put it here and will add it to my own blog.
I write to the prior awareness - not to the thinking of the world - and so this will make no sense to those who still identify exclusively within what they take as their own thinking. Therefore it is offered freely to be considered or not according to whatever is held to resonate true for the reader. Such resonance is more valuable than words, for one’s own stirring is not really the gift of an ‘other’ but one’s own synchronicity of Self.
Who has ears to hear - let them hear... For a man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest.

Crisis can be deliberately or artificially generated as a means to direct the reaction by framing it in terms of fear and guilt. Such is the war of deceit that would bait the mind to abandon it's true function and be usurped by an imposed or interjected 'protector' who is one with the coercive intent that generates the situation of lack or scarcity. Once one reacts from the baited or suggested temptation to fear, then that fear becomes actualised within the consciousness as a core belief or conditioning that then unconsciously frames all that then follows. Ultimately, what we call the human condition is a human conditioning.
Baiting the mind into division and conflict is the operation and agenda of power in the world - or power as is worshipped in the world, for it cannot be true power if it calls upon coercion and deceit to support it.
In following the suggestion to get 'more' by seeking to add to oneself at the expense of others - and in the denial of wilful 'forgetting' of Wholeness or Source, one engages in a journey of 'descent' and fragmentation in an experience of loss until amidst a Prodigal wasteland, one's allegiance to the voice of a fearful separate-self protection, falls away to a true reMembering; to a true Foundation from which to live.
The integrative movement of being rises within the ruins of the segregative 'end-game as a completely different perspective - but one which initially requires conscious desire and willingness to yield through fear-thinking in order to rise AS a Self-Awareness by which to be moved in wholeness of being.
The 'Resource' of our true divinity may SEEM limited and weak or to have abandoned us, when we attempt to fit it to our own 'power' agenda - regardless of our heartfelt identifications with whatever facet of the divine we most identify in as symbol or representation of truth and life and reason.
'Crisis' - I have been told - is represented in Far Eastern character that contains the meaning of danger AND opportunity. Now the opportunistic mentality of the segregative self-sense is simply seeking a separate self interest in disregard of others or life excepting it is seen to impinge on one's own. But the opportunity of uncovering the bait or trigger point of a falsely framing set of self-definitions or beliefs is the opportunity for healing in place of war and division.
The moneylenders in the template are to be swept out of our OWN consciousness, FIRST. For the template level of mind is what has been allowed to come between us and our true Worth-ship. And without giving or extending true With-ness, and thus sharing Creation in whatever we think and feel and say and do, we are sucked into false currency that is made real by mutual reinforcement of a sense of fear, guilt and lack, that is covered over in ourself by projecting onto OTHER.
The willingness to NOT choose to let the mind of fear and guilt make or set our choices or reactions is the truly receptive space into which the divine moves through us and to us in shared Creation. For the unwillingness to see the light or worth in another is the unforgiveness of self that operates to deny communication in seeking justice in vengeance according to personal and cultural narratives of grievance that are never wholly justified. The force of the anger that would prevail upon its world is the desire and belief that hate is justified. The mind of such justifiction is in wilful blindness to true Presence.
I am not saying that our experience and our feelings are wrong or invalid - but that we are in relation to our feelings and experience according to the thought and perspective we attune to, We are not truly victim to our experience excepting we insist that our focus of attention in thought has NO effect and that ALL cause is outside and apart from us in the act of OTHERNESS upon our body and its hostage mind.
This is merely a description of how the idea of separation interjects itself within a unified Consciousness. Fixating attention within the separation-self IS the loss of conscious awareness of grace, fluidity and innocence of being.
I write in with-ness to the call to Joy. Because joy Speaks my true being in a way I cannot of myself replicate, I am freely willing to question the joy-less sacrifice of Life to the false gods of fear and guilt-thinking. Opening and growing a natural desire for a truly honouring life through a capacity for embrace that is not in and of myself alone but is given me in true willingness to join with another in shared purpose. Fear can SEEM to unite in purpose but always AGAINST and without any true intimacy of undefendedness to the Spirit within.
For every form of Life is an image or symbol through which a deception can operate. Integrity is the groundedness in which discernment comes naturally. The conditions of such 'end-times' as we are meeting are those that call upon a deeper self-honesty than we may have imagined or conceived of. And this is the willingness to challenge and question our fears rather than to seek 'protector powers' to 'take them away' or keep them hidden while we persist in an out-of-true conflicted and dissonant 'life', while leaving others or indeed tomorrow, to pay the cost as a sort of 'delaying the inevitable'.
True currency is revealed through the breakdown of the false - As one is willing to receive and act from what is shared or opened true.

Poverty of Spirit and obscene inequality
The subject of wealth distribution and the politics of our way of organising our affairs:
This article on an editorial, "Why Are We So Obsessed With Everyone Else's Wealth?"
My comment:
Lets all blame it on the symptoms!
"God is dead - there are ONLY symptoms!"
"Symptoms lock us into a war that we cannot opt out of!"
"You are the problem - I hate you. No, you are the problem - I hate you and your hate proves I am right".
Many at the Daily Bell know that a significant aspect of problem is actually the assertion of 'answers' that really perpetuate the problem in disguise and are not answers at all - but are traded AS IF they were. They 'redistribute problem'.
A true accounting must remove falsely framed agendas and assertions so as to simply know.
Thinking about and opinion-asserting is grabbing at straws.
The idea that truth is ours to determine gives rise to a personal or private mind, and agenda
If such 'power' then consolidates so as to Lord it over a world it effectively dictates - why would we be surprised?
But without its game of power such 'lord' is nothing. Nothing at all.
What is it that pays tribute unto this dark 'lord'
but fear's displacement.
Thank the reflection for revealing a truth that it neither frames nor imagines.
Even if that such is to recognize what has no belonging in a unified purpose and so none in me.
We invest and trade and identify in a currency of ideas. This but reflects 'downstream' as the world such identity establishes.
Until the whole thing is brought to account, there can only be the desperation of positions within a fear of loss.
Upstream is the consciousness at template level that operates in secret and guile only because of what it is being used FOR.
Upstream of that is the Creative - which the ingenious denies in seeking self-specialness without consequence.
No one in their right mind seeks self-specialness.
Wrong-mindedness may become the norm here, but it will never become love. Hence it MUST deny love to seem bearable.
Power-envy operates the manufacture of grievance.
Who has ears, let them hear!

Isn't the attempt to eliminate the way we KEEP things rather than release them? History does shoe remarkable persistence in repeating itself - albeit in ever more complex forms. But I like the idea of redefining everything clearly so that coercion is coercion is coercion no matter which 'side' of the fence it appears to be on - or how much justifiction it generates from its polar opposite.
History can mean what is not here now unless we choose to repeat it by reacting as if it is here. It can also mean the coercive narrative of a justification for wielding power at expense of living presence.
The coercive mentality makes its own version of 'directed history'.
By the way if the 'banking system' COULD be made a transparent and fully accountable service - such that no sleeves existed to hide false cards, no table to hide signal under and no loopholes that could be exploited to corrupt its service - what kind of system would it be?
And if wealth distribution was a movement of free will rather than of pernicious withholding via artificially imposed scarcities and reflected patterns of value shared.
The deceiver works both ends of the market, or the conflict, by interjecting a false framework onto a communication breakdown. I feel a world of difference between siding with freedom rather than 'fighting for it' for all wars are in a sense 'the banker's wars' although the corruption in the template is not IN the symbol that reflects it - nor the scapegoat offered up to relieve it from exposure.
But healing our mind DOES mean being more and more aware and responsible for our currency and usage of thought and word and therefore of the deeds that effect automatically from the only level that can be truly changed - for coercing behaviours is not freedom no matter what is 'eliminated' thereby. Reclaiming power must begin with recognizing and owning our part in a deception regardless 'who seemed to start it'. Merely operating a grievance aims victimhood at whoever and whatever the conditioning dictates as 'enemy'. I'm not suggesting there are not strong feelings associated with our sense of grievance, but they do not mean that the self-definition that gives rise to them is the whole truth.
History is also a perception and all perception is selective. One can perceive from a sense of lack and grievance or from a sense of wholeness. Many find great self-forgiveness approaching death and become illuminated by a tangible peace. I am not suggesting we put off today until tomorrow - but that we are not LOCKED into perspectives but by our own pride - along with a lifetime's conditioning to operate 'command and control' or else feel failure and powerlessness.
The microcosm is the portal to the Macrocosm. But one can indulge a sense of powerlessness so as to no longer feel obliged to live the capacity that one does have to embody and communicate a better way of living than fearful greed and shameful envy.
When everyone chooses NOT to choose their own integrity, the 'market' is wide open to corruption. Waiting to see if others will change first or justifying the status quo because 'what difference would it make if I changed' IS the investment in the status quo - at the level of measuring everything primarily in terms of the sense of personal loss or gain that y/our history sets as the available options.
Though I include you in reply here I am of course addressing a wider attention and not focussing on you personally. That thinking makes it so is forgot in the wish that our thoughts be true. A disconnected thinking costs the mind an extraordinary overhead in defence and of course leads via bedlam to a prodigal wasteland.

Reality Distortion Field
On FT.com reading some comments - which are often more insightful than the article was a conversation regarding those who are perceived to have instigated the financial errors of crash or post crash failure to regain confidence and growth.
A reality distortion field operates to redefine reality so as to 'feel' better (self-validating assertion). Mutually defined fields operate in multi layered complexity of constantly shifting parameters which by design are ultimately un-understandable excepting to recognize this is understanding.
The overlay and insertion of coercive distorting 'dynamics' generates ever more subtle and complex 'lies' to protect from exposure of lack of true foundation.
True foundation has no need, desire or call to mask itself or reality. Though some seem closer or further from the Emperor, all are complicit in fear of their own bastardy or lack of Author-ity, whether puffing up or aligning in obeisance to the puffed up.
The voice of the perspective of an innocent curiosity shares not this fear but gives of a natural authority without side, edge, grievance or agenda; "But look, the Emperor is naked". THIS is the point at which the injected lie of a fearful self-doubting which was given the Emperor's vanity for self-specialness - can be itself invalidated as a true framework for choice to operate within or outfrom.
In a similar story (the Fall) the denouement operates as the prompting "And who told you you were naked?". Reality distortion field can also be known as personae - plural because we each make a version for everyone we meet.
Enquiring of our own self definitions to illuminate our own fig-leaved shields and maskings allows a perspective of a fresh take. Not to fix down a better basis for 'reality control' but to yield back into a sanity from which a vanity and carelessness of thought baited and entranced our investment. Everyone protects their investment - but if one invests in what CANNOT bear true fruit, there is every reason to re-evaluate what we are investing and why.
Materialism at best seeks to manipulate definitions - but will not expose its own.
On the other hand, the pain of a living lie calls out to be released.
Negotiating with the 'face' that thinks it faces out alone must embrace the validity of its experience enough to establish a channel of communication. But that does not mean to share the beliefs that ARE the reality distortion field.
Communication breakdown is the nature of a fundamental self-doubt. Operating outfrom attempts to manufacture self cannot share in the power to inspire or effect real change. It can only persist in delaying the inevitable... dawning in the mind of what was always present but denied currency of acceptance. Living outfrom a unified and unifying perspective appreciates that which appreciates instead of giving love (one's investment of identification, energy and attention) to the fear of loss.
To go forth and multiply fear of loss is to in-debt ourselves to that which hides and distorts our true presence. The win-lose mind is an either/or dilemma. A fight/flight life/death switching focus. The both/and mind is an embrace, not a rejection, and can seek and negotiate and find win/win outcomes.
By all means continue to manipulate and generate complex devices by which to prop up a model that simply is not fit for purpose. Unto Caesar as is due - but let the heart's discernment unfold the new.

Well said - the equilibrium that exists here is the relationship between central banking hubris and unforeseen consequences.
Y: "unforeseen consequences." for who? Pretty sure Mr Greenspan is happily retired and so will Janet, Kurodo, Ben etc.
X: Indeed they will have a secure financial retirement. However their egos will not retire - they will re-locate to the Re-writing of History Department. Mr Greenspan is already distancing himself from the lineage he spawned.

Negotiating with the 'face' that thinks it faces out alone must embrace the validity of its experience enough to establish a channel of communication. But that does not mean to share the beliefs that ARE the reality distortion field.
Communication breakdown is the nature of a fundamental self-doubt. Operating outfrom attempts to manufacture self cannot share in the power to inspire or effect real change. It can only persist in delaying the inevitable... dawning in the mind of what was always present but denied currency of acceptance. Living outfrom a unified and unifying perspective appreciates that which appreciates instead of giving love (one's investment of identification, energy and attention) to the fear of loss.
To go forth and multiply fear of loss is to in-debt ourselves to that which hides and distorts our true presence. The win-lose mind is an either/or dilemma. A fight/flight life/death switching focus. The both/and mind is an embrace, not a rejection, and can seek and negotiate and find win/win outcomes.
By all means continue to manipulate and generate complex devices by which to prop up a model that simply is not fit for purpose. Unto Caesar as is due - but let the heart's discernment unfold the new.

It is so easy to consider men of ideas that gain traction in society as kind or well meaning gentlemen. But the implementations of these ideas within political ideology can become a monstrous event.
Though a bit dated, Adam Curtis's Pandora's box (online view available)offers a gentle perspective on this. Naomi Klein's 'The Shock Doctrine', less so.
My own sense is that as we define ourselves, so will systems of organisation rise that automatically extend such definitions and reflect in society.
We are not really bankrupt in terms of true wealth - but in the paucity of negative, divisive and disconnecting self-definitions that we do not challenge or question but act as if presumed knowledge.
Self interest is primary - but if the self is defined at odds with our true nature, a coercive surrogate mentality operates. Whether that coercion operates via individual or collective coercion is secondary to that coercion is hatefully suffered and seeks justification in application.
True self interest would encourage cooperative movements of free associations within an integrity of being.
To seek answer in any one system of idea is a symptom of identity conflict and not actually a solution to it.
What we invest in with belief and energy of focus of attention, becomes personal, and distorts our perception.
The Global 'West' has made huge investment in a rationality disconnected from wisdom. A Prodigal error.
I see such rationality as the false god of materialism; the playground of the disconnected ego.
I can hear the bell ringing; "time gentlemen please!".

There's no success like failure - and failure's no success at all
Watch the moment when Great British Bake Off presenter Mel Giedroyc inspired a biscuit blunder in the crucial final moments of Tuesday's show.
This clip offers a great metaphor for ungrounded or wishful government interventions.
Supporting what doesn't work and cannot work and then being unable to withdraw without seeming to be the cause of collapse!
Of course it isn't only governments who enact this pattern. Our financial 'rulers' set up similar scams but usually make it seem like someone else is responsible - and buy up cheap assets.
But closer to home, our own mentality indulges vanities or wishful thinking that leads to lifestyles or relationships that cant work and will never work - and likewise seek to keep the appearances together until time runs out.
The politics (actions that express and define our society) of today seems so much focussed on 'keeping appearances together', such as to be a war on our own mind - where what is actually going on cannot be addressed or even acknowledged, and any attempt at communication is subverted into polarized denial device such that persons and 'blame' get to dominate as the maintenance of the delusion of the status quo and the entertainment-distractions of self-righteous opinion.
It is perhaps a matter of how much we have invested in the appearances of something that lacks integrity or true worth.
There is actually a great freedom in not having to keep it all up any more. "I cant do it" is a simple and liberating honesty that - accepted - lets the chips or indeed the biscuits - fall where they may while resuming a Real Life. Everyone has one and is one - but its back in a closet because it doesn't look like an Emperor's outfit.
Maybe one has to do the utmost while a ship is going down until baling out or making rafts is no longer possible. But essentially what we invest in - where we give value - will become foundational to all that comes after.
Hard to credit that this 'bake-off' isn't a set up. The implanted pathetic one for whom the audience cringes at their somewhat sadistically written scripted presentation. But life also imitates art and a nation of telly-tubbies rises to mimic the culture that is quite deliberately fed them - or does a desire for unconsciousness demand to be fed one way or another?
There's no market for anything sane - what does that say about the mind that manipulates what once was a vehicle or focus of exchange of Goods and Services. (Capitalized to draw attention to that life is good and service to life serves all).
One might claim life is not good and that if you don't serve only yourself - no one else will. Such is the power of our investment in ideas. We really don't have to set up a life or world that fails. We simply need to re-visit the definitions and ideas we are already investing in that are not honestly working for our life, our world - without blame - so as to let go of what does not work and can not work - and bring our willingness to what is already working - and cooperate with that!
Humiliation goes with the territory here. If we cant release a self-specialness then we cant embrace the native integrity of our being. A mindset of blame, shame and guilt absolutely forbids any real engagement with problem or solution , and which cannot be effected by 'divide and rule' mentality. But if that is almost all one has ever known, how could I get this message across? I say 'almost' - because no one is totally without some stirring or moment of being seen, accepted, honoured or embraced in a quality that demanded nothing of them and let them be themselves.

Cutting the support for the arts to only those that make money!
A forest fire allows new shoots to grow.
Art is part of being but has been separated off as if an 'add-on'. A meaningless existence then makes its meaning as acquisition of things including wealth and power or materialism, which curiously doesn't -value the material, but only what can be got out of it for private or personal gain.
To reconnect with our wholeness - with our Soul - might be served in part by the arts, but if they are themselves subverted by the economy stupid, then they become tools of medication for the suppression and control of symptoms, like a kind of lubricant to allows what shouldnt be tolerated, to be tolerable.
Economy needs radical change in its foundations - which are the ideas we have set in stone and yet are ideas none the less.
Art needs also to get in touch with its roots - so as to communicate something of a wholeness of being rather than merely reflect the disease of our times.
I hold that art is of the verb 'to be'. Thou art Creativity in Heaven - but in artifice you are indebted to the deceiver!
I don't see a shift coming that will restore the pockets of a Prodigal Wastrel - but in the turning towards truth and wholeness of being, we will find we are fulfilled and share in that fulfilment. This is the art of living; a shared sense of what it is to be truly alive - and it expresses in infinite ways that are organically alive and not as an engineered society.
Does it need money to tell a story, to share a poem, to sing a song, to paint a picture or create a sculpture? Yes, sometimes. But mostly it needs inspiration, and the willingness to hang in there with it to its fulfilment.
We live in a rather monocultured society where we are increasingly managed and conformed to the mentality of control. Even rebellion has been commoditized. Is it any wonder it is bankrupt?
Our Father,
Who ART in Heaven,
Holy and Whole is your Nature.
Let it come into our own for we would remember
what we always forget,
when we make a different mind our own.
As if to use a Living Inheritance
to line our personal pockets,
until the bubble bursts.
Let forgiveness replace grievance

Look to the Foundations!
I cant help feeling that those who are most privy and powerful with regard to the true nature of the system, set in motion an exploitative shift towards false promise and deceptive protection rackets such as to milk the many - then bleed the many - to maintain their appetites.
Then when the complexity and vacuousness of the whole structure begins to topple, surf or manipulate the crash in such a way as to feed on the carcass.

I have the mental image of the herding of herring by predators such as killer whales. I'm sure you've seen this on tv.
No one will blow the whistle who is themselves part of the same mindset. Honesty costs too much - and real solutions cannot be imagined or countenanced from the perspective of power over and 'getting from'.
And if anyone does, will it not fall on stony ground or be choked by weeds? Unless of course the desire for honesty is realised to be the foundation of true and just relationship, and communication in which trust and worth are to be extended, as discernment guides and uncovers.
But if our personal mind is the same a pattern of manipulative control, we do not have it to share.
When things fall apart. Look to the foundation. When true foundations are substituted for with mutually agreed derivatives, there IS no foundation.
A house built on sand.
Withdraw investment of attention, energy and faith in that which undermines well being and give it into what you appreciate. For what you appreciate, appreciates. A true appreciation is tangibly felt - and shared. It isn't a private mind but a cultural event.
There IS reality beneath the distortions and the spin and we have forgotten what it is and what is its true expression and fulfilment. Because we wanted something else. False promises don't only lead astray, they lay waste.
Trust is NOT a confidence trick. It is the most fundamental expression of being - because our being is not the commodity as is packaged and sold to a disconnected thinking.
Give what is due to the demands under which we are working within - but no more. And give the recognition and loyalty of your heart to the source and nature of a tangible and shared appreciation of the presence of Life in expression.
We cant untangle this mess - but we can be open to a different perspective from which and entirely different appreciation brings renewal and support for a more integrated way of life.

Save Yourself: Can The Governments Save The Market?

Discernment is of a willingness - and indeed a commitment - to feel the truth of a situation, and is one with inspiration. It may seem to be a kind of thinking - and often can occur after a process of thinking has reached its limits, but it is an intuitive quality that simply feels which way to go - or whether in fact to go at all. It can sense the nature of the roots or root intentions, without having to explore all of the branches. Trying to run without it would be like running as a template instead of as a participant in a greater relationship that is of a wholeness or presence that a template cannot 'be' or 'know'.
Unlike thinking, discernment does not yield to will or suffer to be controlled, but the personal sense is deeply and habitually invested in exactly that, and yields to compromises and makes alliances in order to gain its own advantage.
Discernment is like Manna - in that it cannot be stored and repackaged as ideas without becoming another template. It is a responsibility of remaining honestly present.
Everyone has it, but if we use a manipulative consciousness instead, then we become full of our own thought and listen only as our thought dictates, if at all.
A reevaluation of values and purpose is called for. Alarm should not inspire fear, but summon an alertness of full presence. For fear is not the guide of a present discernment but of reaction and reenactment of past ignorance.
When the 'system' that is itself an expression of our culture, that we all use, share and depend on, disintegrates or fails, is there not a call to awaken from the habits that ARE the problem - and attend to the Living?
Our political and financial situation is mirroring the fundamental structure and 'dynamic' of a consciousness that is in many ways a global 'culture' that does not express or honour a genuine presence of life in its expressions.
'Save yourself', by stepping out of the mentality of a template based thinking and be inspired to a fresh curiosity as to what we are and what our world is. Perspective awakens, shifts our focus and grows willingness and capacity to invest in a reality that at its root, is of shared being.
What we appreciate, appreciates. Fear and greed are the same. We do not need austerity so much as a refocus in an honesty of heart. I sense our vanities will be stripped away whether we are willing now or later. But to even be able to see that we are vain - and conditioned - in our own thinking and image, is a measure of noticing. Of awareness.

Care fees paid AFTER you die
Trying to control life seems natural to a selfishnessness that sees everything in terms of its own interests. But it always paints itself into a corner, struggles, wears itself out and dies.
The breakdown of economic capacity to support the extraordinarily complex and conflicted entanglement is the revealing of lost or false foundation.
Be willing to question the foundations of the beliefs and ideas that are expressing a failed culture as a living alternative to persisting in an old conflicted and conflicting mentality.
Old ideas had their time, but become idolized out of context. To live within a context of unquestioned beliefs which run like a template may appeal to manipulators - but there's no fresh and lovely Life in it.
To be baited or seduced into grievance and reaction is to be sold a sense of self righteousness in exchange for your Real presence.
Your Real presence can feel the same in others. Care for all that is truly Home.

Libor scandal: How I manipulated the bank borrowing rate
In a culture of win win opportunism, no one looks for - or cares about this sort of thing - and blowing whistles is like pissing in the wind. Almost everyone with a financial stake was participating in a culture of callous irresponsibility; spending the future.
Now there is a shift to escape a true accounting, by becoming suddenly righteous and seeking out scapegoats upon which we can displace what is ultimately our own uncorrected mind.
This is an ancient magical ritual that perpetuates a fearful and dishonest basis of identity and thought. It seems that some parts are sacrificed for the whole to move on - but in fact it is truth that is sacrificed so that self-illusion can play on.
The good news about awful self discovery is that one is no longer needing to run and hide from it. There is more good news to come - but it grows from setting forth from a different basis than the mask of deception.
This doesn't mean that there is isn't a need to bring institutions into alignment with the real needs of those for which they are to serve - but that the way of it can either be a whitewashed superficial makeover or a true change of heart and mind.
I agree with Mervyn King, that we need a culture change - but that the root of such a change is not found in rapping the knuckles and a telling off. Cultural renewal isn't about fixing up a corrupted system - but of discerning and embodying a true sense of value in all that we think and do.
Our relationships have become - 'whatever we want' or present them to be - excepting they are not real on such a basis - because they do not first honour the basis by which relationship MEANS something. Integrity and trust are necessary for communication to truly occur. Without them, all is war. This may seem to be justified by Darwinian interpretations, but a house divided does not stand.
The Babel of the modern mind is falling down even as I write - for it thinks to make itself in its own image - and believes it!
Instead of setting ourselves up to determine (or manipulate) truth- we would be better served if we let ourselves share in truth. This is indeed a culture shift for it calls on a conscious relationship rather than a codified set of regulatory controls that effectively allow the mind to fall into an unconsciousness in which it is easily manipulated by thoughts that would be thrown out in the light of a shared and conscious reason.

'Panic has become all too rational'
I recall at school 'resolving' apparently complex equations into simpler and clearer terms, so I also wonder that if a large part of this debt is effectively non existent in real terms.
The revelations occurring are such as to expose self delusion - and our most fundamental understanding of the self(be it a personal or corporate entity) is not actually of truly an independent power - but is ALWAY an expression of a mutuality or interdependence.
Democracy has lost out to surface desires and manipulation of hidden fears - (hidden by distraction with surface desires) - but what I feel to be of true value in its spirit, is a willingness and a capacity for communication to occur.
Communication has lost out to a war of deceit, persuasion and manipulation. To actually communicate requires a basis for trust. Without trust, defence is governing all transactions and that effectively asserts power over rather than shares power with - albeit in ways that seem perfectly justifiable to the mind its its withholding of communication.
The 'system' could be a system that aligns and reflects with the way things work.
Or it can be a system that grows out of mutual self delusion in order to protect the right to self delusion unto its limits - of collapse, war, death.
The nature of self delusion is often associated with evil and not surprisingly in terms of the inherent disregard for truth that is necessarily part of the deal. But guilt and fear block or distort our capacity to discern and blame is a self-delusory ritual that does not awaken true responsibility.
The opportunity to look upon the false - without recoil into opinionated judgement - is the opportunity to rewaken from a different basis. A basis that is not the result of self illusion, coercive intent or a mask of fairness over a fear of coercive intent.
Individuals suffer a 'breakdown' when they can no longer maintain their 'self' identity - but this may offer a breakthrough of a deeper rootedness of being. The depth, as it were, wakes up and sheds the surface, as a soil in which the old patterns do not work - and are painful to attempt.
"Don't know mind" is the highest state of human knowledge possible - but far from being helpless, it opens as the only true receptivity. To listen in trust from 'dont know mind', will yield a tangible result for the wholeness of which the part is an expression - and not a prodigal power in its own right.

Cuts, what cuts?
We are seemingly trapped in an insane loop.
I call it insane because it is founded in a wishful thinking, that became a default manipulation, that became a substitute for genuine growth.
The narratives of human thinking - be they governments, corporations or individuals, are wishful thinking - that is 'stories' we tell ourselves for our own reasons.
Trying to 'fit' reality to our story can never work - but for a while it can seem to work - with a bit of force and a sleight of mind. What a HIT one gets from a sense of being in control, from being righteous and from being superior to an adversary or indeed adversity!
I feel that this way of thinking is a hidden selfishness in disguise - and in a tacit presumption that everyone else is the same as 'me'.

The overheads and costs of engaging war are like having the brake and accelerator on at once - energy is effectively wasted, life is effectively denied - and channelled into fearful attempts to bolster control - which creates the conditions of instability and further escalates conflict.
Because our cleverest minds have worked on patching and remodelling this system to sort of cope to the nth degree, we have a critical collapse at hand - that is of a global nature.
Surrender when defeated is honesty, and honesty is the basis of trust, communication and the sharing in value.
To say one cannot afford honesty is to be deceived into protecting a lie at expense of truth.
A fundamental re evaluation and account is called for - in fact it is unavoidable. But the mainstream financiers and politicians do not have a perspective or a vocabulary to communicate from or with.
The switch is not from spending to austerity. The switch is from that which undermines a wholeness of being to that which promotes it.
Wholeness of being cannot be manipulated, but can be revealed and extended in practice. Without the EXPERIENCE of what this phrase means - one is left with words amidst a mind accustomed to manipulation. But everyone knows this experience in some aspect or moment of their lives - for it is signified by an absence of coercion, and a natural generosity of willingness and trust in a grounded discernment. IE: It is practical because it is the Way Things Work (when not distorted by machinations of fear and deception).
We teach ourselves a lesson by which we may be humbled of outrageous - and absurd - arrogances. But the light of a true humility is clear and uncovers a practical pathway where hubris finds none.

I call it insane because it is founded in a wishful thinking, that became a default manipulation, that became a substitute for genuine growth.
The narratives of human thinking - be they governments, corporations or individuals, are wishful thinking - that is 'stories' we tell ourselves for our own reasons.
Trying to 'fit' reality to our story can never work - but for a while it can seem to work - with a bit of force and a sleight of mind. What a HIT one gets from a sense of being in control, from being righteous and from being superior to an adversary or indeed adversity!

Do not put your faith in the false deities of economists
If the basis or predicate is false, then all else that follows - or is built upon it - shall likewise be false. An ideal may originally have been rooted in the heart's discernment and realisation - but ideologies are derivative attempts to cling to the wreckage that inevitably associates a war of mind and heart.
In the war of mind over heart, the heart is 'rebranded' as emotionalism and the (wishfully but not actually separated) mind 'crowns itself' as Protector and Guide unto what shows itself finally as a prodigal waste of a Commonwealth.
Feeling is the expression and discernment of connection. A true accounting must FEEL to predicate itself on a true or actual foundation. A sense of disconnect is associated with emotional states - including the attempt to control emotional states.
The Prodigal Son is a tiny story-image that nonetheless speaks of a fundamental truth. To take off with 'one's inheritance' before the Father is dead is a symbol of the agreement to eat of the apple of conflicted mind. Immediately upon such enterprise, is FELT-God seemingly rendered absent, dead, external to both space and time and effectively irrelevant excepting insofar as each claims it in his own fragmenting and fragmented image.
When the primary asset is the 'possession' of one's own self-image - along with all the thinking and experience as arises within such a foundation, then the true Basis and Condition of Wealth has been sold out for a scam.
A fundamental breakdown IS the opportunity for a fundamental reevaluation. When one's own thinking can no longer be trusted, one must listen in a silence that FEELS or discerns - and observe the mind that once was employed as one's own.
I am addressing underlying fundamentals beneath and beyond the radar of our thinking mind - but not beyond the capacity of the heart to recognize Itself. The practical application of ideas is a mode of control, but the natural expression and extension of a true basis in Life is discernment and trust extended.
The nature of investment needs to be not merely of a short term private self-gain - or it continues to undermine a true Appreciation. To invest in what is truly alive will profit all - including oneself, but our notion of wealth is so materially measured and blinkered that we blindly tend to trade our very Soul, (Feeling being) - for the 'world'.
Never underestimate the power of the mind - of intent and belief - for such makes the world we each experience - while the truth the world reveals and reflects, awaits recognition at heart.
Whatever the cultural packaging, the human mind enacts the same essential stories - unless and until it wakes to its stories AS stories. Then there is a basis to see the scam for what it is and refuse it so as to be found within a clear perspective; free of coercive intent.

Another throw of the monetary dice
The mentality of the prodigal son was always one of 'what can I get out of this' - even while his Father is alive, though ignored.
Religion at its root is not a magical wishful attempt to make nothing into a seeming something and then trade it so as to kill off or hollow out Something as it is turned itself to a nothing - all for the fleeting moment of power and possession.
Rewakenening to true values is waking up from a deceptive voice in our heads that we call 'my thinking' on behalf of 'my private interests' - (albeit presented so as to appear to be wise, kind, protective, benevolent and neccessary).
When the system of guidance fails - or is realized to be a scam - then the obvious step is to listen for an alternate to madness in the simple trust that madness is not inherent to being alive or being human.
What wakens the heart is simply listening in the heart. While the head can peddle deceptions amidst a maze of distractions and a mist of (heart) denial - little wisdom can get through.
The manipulator does not/can not know what is meant by the heart because it only knows its own thoughts and 'understands' only in its own image.
What are the activties and projects that embody and support life's true and truly shared value? These are our true economy.
Midas turned all to gold and starved for life. It is nothing new to be so deceived. When there is no way for the ego (self illusion) to remain hidden, it seeks ever more depserate means to hide its (lack of) foundation, including war and death.
But yielding into Life while alive is to 'remember the Father' that is the ever present Source, Nature and Condition of be-ing - in its Own terms and not in the 'value added' sense of a privately manipulated outcome.
Investment is what you give yourself to - in energy of attention and comittment. There is NO scarcity of human resourcefulness but for the folly of false investments in which we believe we are trapped.
Truth seems fearful to the liar or to that which has investment in the lie. But Truth is the Condition of truly appreciating anything! - and is also the touchstone of a rested sanity of being regardless of the headless chicken syndrome amidst what after all has always been a transient matter.
To meet in a shared sense of value is not a manipulated outcome - but is bedrock to any real cultural exchange or embodiment.
Enjoy this day and every day as today - that is - don't poison it with thinking of a nature that sucks out the joy and wonder of being. Or at least wake up to such habit and determine to see it for what it is so as to become free of tyranny.
Start always now, because now is the closest to where Life is being you. Take no thought for what you are to do - but listen instead to the true guide - that can always be felt or heard when the false is passed by unused.

Philanthropy is the enemy of justice?
Many good points raised.
Things can be presented so as to seem what they are not, in order to manipulate an outcome that may otherwise be denied. (I say may because, if simply asking directly, we sometimes find it is given).
Whether this is a conscious conspiracy might depend on definitions of the term conscious. After all, most wielders of power equate the 'good' with their own personal judgements.
The pursuit of profit is commendable, for it is the search for growing and sharing value.
But if the forms of value are divorced from any true context of relationship, then integrity is lost to a desire to usurp and manipulate the framework of communication and value.
The very rich can use money as power in all sorts of ways that may seem or even be believed as constructive, but which undermine and override the framework of a true process of communication.
The pattern of mind that seeks to override and undermine a true communication is not especially found in the very rich, but is fundamental to a wishful and dishonest or imaginative sense of self.
While the very loud may seem to have their way for a time, the imposition of will upon life does not hold without constant reinforcement, which is always associated with struggle and suffering. But to act within the shared value of a communication of life is just.
The true correction for injustice is whatever most practically serves as a shared step that embraces the just.
Humanly we know not what we do, because we live out from a lens darkly. That is, a mind that WANTS to believe its own thought and whose actions are simply programmed by its thinking.
Communication, to be real, must be an uncovering of what is really going on in our heart and mind, even as we are engaged in the world. It is not only financiers who use clever tricks to make nothing seem like something real!
King Midas turned the world to money - not such a wise move eh!
There's no lack of wisdom available to a willingness to listen - but such an abundance is not considered riches or a life more abundant to the mind in its attempt to coercively secure its own personal validity.

Ideas are not really in separate private minds - though that idea is deeply cherished - even as synonymous with life itself.
Divide and rule is not merely a mode of power in the world - but is the mind of judgement whereby That which is unified and whole is perceived as fragmented and conflicted - and then identified with and acted out as real.
I don't have a language or a channel of communication to say it - but that the deceptive aspect of human politic and finance, is a direct expression of an almost universally held idea of independence from life itself. That is - it is BLIND to its own source and nature, and that blindness expresses itself as a compulsive thinking out from a limited identification of thought.
There hasn't been a language for the heart except religion - whose essential meaning has largely been lost to wishful thinking and superficiality. But the heart in its true sense is not romantic or emotional - but discerning and practical in expression on behalf of a wholeness.
Not a wholeness in concept - but a wholeness that concept must give way to and serve or be silent.
It may seem like a need to survive - but in fact discernment is a result of a desire to know given priority. To find answer of any true and effective kind, it is necessary to grow trust - within oneself - first, and then uncovered as a process of communication that begins from a unifying or common inspiration, one step at a time. Without trust, honesty cannot be allowed in. Without honesty - nothing real is recognized or valued, and a delusional misperception usurps a true intelligence.
It would seem that ingenious thinking is called for. But I suggest that is what creates the breakdown in trust and communication which underlies human war and woe - financial or otherwise.
What is called for is a capacity to discern rather than judge, to intuit directly rather than think, and to embody what is uncovered as a calm, clear unified presence of communication or action that serves and meets the need.
This is called for in us all - and is blocked by identification with shame - (or a sense of personal invalidity or unworthiness) - and fear - (of being exposed and rejected or punished).
The mind is very tricksy in its capacity to deny and deceive. We all know this intimately - and yet persist as if we can play it and win! There is always another way of looking at what the mind takes as reality.

To Hell in a handbasket?
Hell is a great place to question the nature of one's experience.
Describing a problem can be a way of setting a framework in which attention is distracted from - the real issue. The framework is what is almost impossible to bring to awareness because it is already shaping and directing identity, thought and attention.
Uncovering a true integrity of being is called for, in any dis-integration of function or communication.
If there are purposes that are undermining of a true basis for life - then they are to be identified correctly and invalidated.
The attempt to resolve in thought - without first connecting to a true integrity - is the nature of the problem. What arises from a deeper honesty is not an attempt to manipulate one's experience - nor of manipulating or coercing one's own interests over and against others.
It may seem suicidal to relinquish a manipulative intent - but those who do, uncover a guided sense of life and a discernment that can feel the optimal pathways amidst seeming complexity - as they are willing to listen.
There is no escaping the consequence of one's active intent - even if it is 'unconsciously' so. But mind is not fixed and can learn to change. We can embrace change gracefully - or we can go to hell in a handbasket en route. But we cannot hold 'a mind' against life and prevail - though the temptation of the wish to do so may bait us over and over again.

What price the new democracy? Goldman Sachs conquers Europe
Everything expresses its originating idea.
Fear is behind the masks of control. Fear effects a distorting and obstructing influence on perception and communication. Fear is a self fulfilling prophecy. Fear is used as a means of manipulation.
BUT fear exposed soon becomes its own undoing, for an intolerable life ripens a willingness to question and challenge presumed knowledge and identity at its foundations. THAT IS, to violate the rules or bounds set by fear and uncover in light of awareness, the deceptions whereby suffering and powerlessness are substituted for a Whole-Souled Participation in life.
The essence of the deception is mentalization of life.
The uncovering of the mind that was hidden in the darkness it needs to maintain in order to survive or prevail - is a reflection of us each and all. Not in form and in differing ways - but we can recognize this in our own thoughts and intentions, and we can wake up to our capacity to discern directly, and cease to subscribe to, or validate, that which actively undermines our fundamental sanity or peace.
The shift in individual consciousness is also a wave. A Movement of Renewal that looks like death from the old perspective. But mentalization does not know life because it is the condition in which a mind is closed as a result of self certainties of 'already knowing'.
Be assured that deception is endemic to human consciousness but that this is essentially an expression of a fundamental self-deception; "The father of the lie".
Money is to be redeemed; that is, to be uncovered in its original meaning or true function - relative to true wealth, value and exchange. And this will be the expression of a dawning sanity in which mentalising is recognised as ungrounded, and worthless currency - no matter how clever the presentation or how persuasive the sales pitch amidst the distracting tricks of scam, illusion and too-good-to-be-true offers.
Why would I expect Cultural Renewal? Because I see the bankruptcy is far deeper than economic. This bubble holds the end of our ideas of ourselves and our world - and therefore the uncovering of a fresh appreciation.
Invest in a true Foundation. Calm the mind enough to feelingly discern from an always fresh perspective and do not follow the blind into the pit! Fear is not the guide to the healing or undoing of fear. Protection breeds fear - but wisdom knows how and where to be in each moment.
That which is without true foundation or integrity cannot be maintained without sacrificing wholeness, abundance, trust and real communication. Withdraw such investments now and be guided as to where to give your attention. The conspiracy of the fearful is being brought to light and found unworkable. This is Good News.

And this will be the expression of a dawning sanity in which mentalising is recognised as ungrounded, and worthless currency - no matter how clever the presentation or how persuasive the sales pitch amidst the distracting tricks of scam, illusion and too-good-to-be-true offers.
Why would I expect Cultural Renewal? Because I see the bankruptcy is far deeper than economic. This bubble holds the end of our ideas of ourselves and our world - and therefore the uncovering of a fresh appreciation.
Invest in a true Foundation. Calm the mind enough to feelingly discern from an always fresh perspective and do not follow the blind into the pit! Fear is not the guide to the healing or undoing of fear. Protection breeds fear - but wisdom knows how and where to be in each moment.
That which is without true foundation or integrity cannot be maintained without sacrificing wholeness, abundance, trust and real communication. Withdraw such investments now and be guided as to where to give your attention. The conspiracy of the fearful is being brought to light and found unworkable. This is Good News.

Barclays was not bailed out by the taxpayer - but by the Arabs. I'm sure if you search a little you will find it was no small sum and no less of a bail out than HSBC.
While international corporate finance has operational bases in our country, these 'businesses' are not really 'British' any more than Man U is Mancunian.

Whenever and wherever the mob is whipped up into an emotional frenzy, there are likely to be hidden agendas at work - either in setting it up or in taking opportunistic advantage while such force of feeling is focussed.
The differentiation between government and financial corporate interest has become a facade. If with your left hand you gamble and connive to deceive and with your right you righteously protect the 'system' by relieving the banks of any real responsibility, then there becomes a direct parasitical leeching of the wealth of the many, via the 'untouchable' privileged few.
In some energetic sense, this affair LOOKS like some sort of sting of accountability is to be demanded and effected - and MAY prove to be PART of a shift in culture.
But my sense beneath it all is of a collective guilt being scapegoated on whoever can be found to dump it on. My sense is that as long as guilt is seen as a kind of toxic debt to hide in complex deceptions and trade in, will we suffer a dysfunctional and unreal society.
When we can acknowledge the nature of guilt as a simple desire to get for ourselves at expense of others in thought and actions that undermine and dishonour ourselves and the wholeness of which we are part, then we can realign our thought (and consequent acts) with our true and shared interest.
The 'culture' of modern mind is so self-separately identified, that it believes selfish 'getting' to be the true basis of life. The shift of culture to a true accounting must see a shared value in exchange.
An economy based on dishonouring others - and indeed our commonwealth of cultural and material resources that is our inheritance and our gift to pass on through the generations - is inherently dissonant and will foul its nest.
To find a true basis from which to align - while using commonsense in the transition - must effectively be a shift from the getting mind to the giving and receiving mind.
What we tend to see is a 'moral' card being used as part of a war. Truth when it suits us - and only focussing on the facets of those issues that suit us.
The mentality of the lie is so pervasive, that there is no one here who is 'without sin' to throw the first stone (though there is usually a rush of self righteous hate to do so).
The communication that comes from those who own their own mind - and yet choose to serve the wholeness of the situation rather than pursue a narrow self interest, is an opportunity to see from beyond the foundation that guilt and fear establishes as tyrannous necessity.
