Is it possible that the human mind is a radically different thing from a computer?

Everything in our times is converging to promote the awakening of consciousness to its devices and deceptions.
Differentiate the usage of the idea of Mind Itself, from the idea of Individuality of expression that is a Soul Consciousness, and differentiate such a Unified and equally non-local integrality of wholeness from the idea of a self-segregating definition of separate or independent consciousness. Whereas the mind denoted capital M Mind is 'God' and the Extension of such Indivisibility is 'Sonship' or Creation - these are not within the time and space framework of consciousness as we generally believe and experience it to be. The Non Local is All pervading. Our local perspective and experience has in effect been designed to forget or cover over our Eternal or Universal cognition as an unfolding framework of experience and consciousness within the Universal Movement of Being within Consciousness that operates "Know Thyself" or Self-Reflective EXPERIENCE within Infinite reflective play of possibility and probability arising from unique expressions of Being that is likewise Creative but does not create Itself.
The generating of a feedback of physical experience of the Movement of Being is one of innumerable facets, but at its foundation is an intentional device of inducing a divisive and polarised binary blocking template through which the communication of Wholeness is experienced as split off or fragment Mind. The seemingly split mind associates its mind almost exclusively as residing within a body, as a differentiating protective mechanism, and grows a persona to integrate and consolidate a fragmenting and fragmented 'split mind' as an experience of continuity and some stability amidst an equally fragmented and chaotic 'world' of others, of forces and events that are unrecognized and therefore in which the self seeks to survive, exploit, and prevail over.
The disintegration of inevitable failure to integrate the un-integratable is reflected in discoveries and insights that bring paradigm shifts. The discovery of the mechanism of the manifest Universe includes the programmed or conditioned personality structure and its corresponding patterning and pathways as the totality of the body mind expression.
So there is an aspect of our consciousness that is in a sense designed as a communication device through which to explore and share in a physical experience... a separation experience - but that flips to become a re-wakening experience.
The communication between the Non-physical non-local Mind and the personality structure is re-opening even as the intensity of the segregative 'divide and rule' mentality seems to rise to dominance.
Letting the Light back in that was never really absent - but was in a sense mapped out of awareness or mapped into a disguise.
Until the Light is welcomed and Recognized, the incoming insight and discovery will feed the control mentality with destructive and degrading effect. The overlap of machine and brain is already in play but Higher Mind or the truly Creative is not a machine or a process in linear terms of cause and effect for it IS Cause/Effect as One Totality and can never be other that because there is no other. The sense of otherness is the self-differentiation that derives experience of what one is - which is never definitive or conclusive excepting its qualities and laws are always present whatever other local 'laws' are derived from them.
The elephant in this room is the so called self that thinks it thinks alone and apart and therefore is and has the power to assert itself upon the whole from such an imaginary point of view.
Mechanism in service to Life is invisible - like a well played instrument. Mechanism operating coercively upon Life is opaque and ultimately renders Life as a joyless and meaningless experience of loss and conflict stuffed into an ever smaller box until it is a coffin. The Wizard of Ox seemed to enjoy his Big Identity - but was as lost and powerless as everyone else when the curtain was undrawn.
A mechanism of itself cannot accept a decision but can replicate certain aspects of a previous decision or programmed set of conditions. It only has a rear-view mirror of what its database holds as already happened to interpret what is actually happening according to the rules of its programming. BUT nothing truly is without or apart from Consciousness and Consciousness with a C is Creator to all that it Knows as All That Is.
The interface between physical and non physical is not as absolute and ultimate as materialism wishes were true. Nor is it a personally coercive imposition or interference as religionists wish true. The true resolving of the split mind and its chaotic reflection is in a unified appreciation arising from an abandonment of the core mechanism of victimhood, powerlessness and the striving of an identity based on lack to overcome its intimately self inflicted predicament.
The Creative choice between mechanism as power over or mechanism as vehicle to communicate and experience through is at THAT foundational level. The exposing of a false sense of power is the portal to choosing ONLY what we Are. Each experiences and comes to accept or delay this Creative Freedom in their own way. The mistaken belief that rationality and technology are already creative freedom is the least able to see or hear because it wants to USURP Life and render it in its own image.
There are facets that play a vital role in certain processes but if they replicate out of context, they become antagonistic or even parasitical upon the whole and in ways that can subvert the defences that should check and contain it, to operate in reverse.
When a house cannot stand - go to the foundations and check the template - clear out anything from the temple that does not belong and embody integrity in all that comes hence.

Will machines ever be able to think?
Will machines ever be able to think?
This BBC article promoted a brief consideration of Consciousness and 'machinery'.
If you can accept that Consciousness in its raw or native sense is all pervading energy that informs and communicates or harmonizes itself in all that it expresses as manifest and self-aware reality - then what we call consciousness is already in a sense an instrument or machine in which a 'portion' of a greater 'mind' explores its creative expression. To mimic the programs of our lower mind will not really make 'alive' but if we give our consciousness to them - they will be an outsource of our own. To let the Living be self-aware through 'machinery' requires all of the elements of consciousness to be received and communicated. That is both Feeling and Thought. The Feeling or intuitional knowing is not emotions, which are merely thoughts that limit or distort the Feeling dimension. Our current 'split off mentality' from Feeling tends to seek to replace Life with a model of mimicry (and gimmickry!) and of manual usurpations and interventions. Because the Feeling Consciousness is 'upstream or beyond the focus of a conceptual focus, it cannot be witnessed or demonstrated within the terms of a physically focussed consciousness - excepting to note the difference in the quality and reflection of one's own consciousness experience and relations.
The question 'Why?' is meaningless at the level of the meaning of existence - but is absolutely pertinent to the level of consciousness expression because to go forth and multiply what one does not love, enjoy, or appreciate truly... is to create a world of deprivation, isolation and conflict - as can be readily observed.
So the primary basis of foundation of choice or decision is not the responsibility of programmed thinking!

Cometh the hour, cometh the robot?
This writing came from reading an article on ft.com called 'Obama must face the rise of the robots'.
Work work work is 666 - never comes the 7 - the fulfilment.
But the 7 is not merely the symbol for 'job done - lets have time out for leisure' - but is that in consciousness which recognizes the fulfilment of the desire through the work and knows it Good. That is to say the aspect of awareness that fulfils the innate function of Life to "Know Thyself".
This cannot be substituted for AND be fulfilling. To fulfil a mechanical destiny is no fulfilment at all.
The goals associated with "getting" - whether that be getting wealth and power or getting more control - a better handle on manipulating mind or matter - are ALWAYS an expression of a sense of lack or fear and thus extend that consciousness such that, within it, one can never rest and Know that Life is Good.
Indeed the attempt to conquer and control life leads to a limiting process in consciousness such that man makes of his mind a machine. For Man has forgotten the nature and function of being amidst the idolatry of his own thinking.
Technology serving shallow and mechanically conditioned desires is blindly destructive and self-seeking. Wisdom is the discernment of truth - not in a philosophical sense of defining or determining truth - but of listening beyond our conditioned thinking for the true nature of an event or relationship and the true desirability or value of the movement of response.
I propose that Maslow's pyramid is upside down - and that all of what is beneath the apex is in fact only meaningful within its context. But Meaning is not as determined or defined by human thinking and then embodied in action - it is the very nature of the action itself in true light.
We do not see simply because we have effectively programmed our minds to see something else. The Faustian pacts by which we trade our Soul for power are the result of the 'devil' of our own wish to deceive ourselves - to become powerful and special in our own right.
Now those who get to wield the levers of the new Wizard of Oz may feel that this technology is for the benefit of all mankind - simply because it suits their current appetite for power over - rather than relationship with. But the loss of awareness of Soul is the gain of a meaningless existence - regardless of the spin that may be set upon it.
The machine is already installed and programmed in our minds - indeed we take it AS our mind! - The expression of this will continue in terms of the manual override of Life via technology of ever subtler interventions. The purport to serve Life is the appeal to justify technological 'answers' to issues that are much more complex expressions of problem in consciousness - and technology is being employed to insulate us from the true feedback in which a process in consciousness can find true healing or resolution. It insulates us from each other and enables a virtual existence to enact and transact hollow relationships.
The unfolding of the new technology offers a wake up opportunity to our minds - to our thinking - to the foundations we have been working, living and thinking FROM. The 'ghost in the machine' has it back to front. The machine is an artefact of MInd - not a mind or lots of minds - but Mind.
As you give so do you receive, is a law of Mind. Man's thinking has sought to control Life - himself, others and the world - and this leads directly to an experience of being exactly so controlled. We call the result, 'The Human Condition' - and we get stuck there because we do dot awaken to that it is a current conditioning and not a set condition. Until we change our mind about our mind - it runs a program of divide and rule, limitation and depletion, suffering and loss - for the sake of passing vanities.
Yes - there is a wonderful capacity and function of the providing of the means to fulfil vision and desire. But it needs to be truly felt of it will simply add further layers of entanglement to already ihtractable problems. BUT powerlessness is the beginning of humility and the waking to the need for true discernment. I sense that little of anything I write here can find an ear until the pride of our human thinking has been revealed to be all of a false foundation.

Mechanical enforcement of a man in a mechanism
An article in the Telegraph on a growth of (a new generation of much more efficient) speed cameras:

Perhaps, this is a last moment before technology with GPS automatically enforces a maximum speed and all cars have to be fitted with it. And then it will drive the car - which wont be needed much because we'll all be plugged into a 'Matrix'-like existence that essentially medicates us with 'safe' pseudo experience; a managed 'reality'.
Meanwhile... the letter of the law can always be smugly and vociferously defended by the self-righteous.
The casting of the motorist as an easy and legitimate target to attack, tax or limit comes out of a 'health and safety' mentality that has grown disproportionately to functionality. It also comes out of the guilt mentality of the global warming consciousness in which the car is cast as a scapegoat.
The application of a tick box mentality that is supposed to 'fulfil' duty of care or protection. Being 'seen' to support targets that are the blinkers of self delusion.
An imposition of rule enforcement that is mechanically enforced without any process of relationship, education or communication.
All these things speak of a blindness of the heart; a lack of wisdom.
On the other side of the coin, an idolization of independent mobility as a purely personal freedom - as personified particularly in the car - is also an emotional blindness to that it is - or WAS - much more of a danger than so much else that gets blown up out of all proportion. (As manipulators of a feeble media love to do).
What is missing in our society, in this as in all else - is a true presence of a heartfelt relationship. This is diminished and enfeebled in almost every social context, and in its place a mechanical template runs that runs as a system without heart or soul.
To drive with due care and attention, relative to all the factors present in the external conditions, and the internal conditions, is not defined or supported by such blunt measures as speed limits - unless and except as they are intelligently set and proportionately enforced with discretion.
To make an ass of the law doesn't serve to grow respect for the law. To make a tyranny of being watched, tracked and punished for even small misdemeanours is something almost everyone can recognize in their workplace today as a manipulative guile by which trust and communication are replaced with being controlled.
Reaction and opinion are cheap and easy. Laws made out of such emotional partiality appeal to the surface realities of our mind without discerning what the issues really are.
If we want a culture of a generosity of spirit, an abundance of good will and imaginative and heartfelt vision for a world and a way of life that grows a true commonwealth rather than hollowing out to debt and depletion, then there has to be a sense of the context of everything and not just the forms it presents. What comes from a meanspirited and joyless mind can only grow such a mind. The attempt to control life is anathema to life.
And yes the attempt to make special exception of our personal self from the rules of the house by which unacceptable behaviour is met with limitation, education and rehabilitation.
How exactly, do human beings wake up to their true nature and relationships? We are not machines.

Mind control by a virus
Please permit me a multidisciplinary observation and proposition:
We humanly tend to presume an independent mind in a body, separate from - and in competition with other minds in other bodies. But such evidence as this article suggests that Mind is in fact not just greater than any individual programmed system or organism, but is greater than species.
I suggest that Mind - as the Context of ALL experience, is all pervading - as a non-local Field. Not an External to us God-Mind - as mythically imagined or conjectured, but an All Inclusive Singularity of Unified Awareness.
But the many levelled programs of 'self versus world' and 'self versus other' and 'self versus self, are of such a distracting complexity - and indeed fascination and wonder - that attention is fixated toward the contents of experience and the processing of such experience as an ongoing reprogramming of 'our own mind'.
Because we humanly desire and presume our own independent 'power' and identity - with a sense of separate self-will, we seek and gather the evidences to support our 'self' and see that as identical with survival. But the focus of the separate self-sense is a self fulfilling distraction.
Perhaps, unlike the caterpillar, we have a capacity to discern the mind that is operating or active in our case in any particular instance. I say this because the human consciousness is of a nature that is not merely organism - but is Self-Aware - which is to say directly aware prior to any process of identifications or applied meanings. To open or awaken this quality of being is to open at a level associated with inspiration, illumination and direction amidst a unified perception. It is also the capacity to discern thoughts which could be seen very much like viruses, in that they find a welcome in a host-mind and then undermine the host so as to multiply at the expense of the life of the host.
That the world reflects the inner aspects of our mind-strategies is hardly surprising - because mind is our projector and receptor.
The idea of mind as the control of something separate from it is an expression of a choice to separate from life in order to conduct an experiment. But one cannot separate from life excepting imaginatively.
Fear not that you are being manipulated - unless of course guilt or fear is the active principle - in which case, desist acting on such basis and feel for the integrated movement of being that is at its very nature - Life.

Richard Dawkins and David Attenborough and the problemof consciousness
That anything at all exists - and that awareness of anything IS - is mind stoppingly awesome. See reality without the lens of concept or definition and you let reality see through you. What is the mechanism that tends to automatically deny, limit or interrupt this directness of be ing? I don't ask for words - I ask you to explore for yourselves and know.
The problem of human consciousness is that it is itself predicated on an impossible and insoluble assertion or presumption.
"I think therefore I am" - is true enough as the intuition of awareness - but totally false if it is taken to mean that you are as your own thought suggests, infers or defines. This deception is far more deep seated and all pervasive than would ever be imagined or believed - yet it comes about through the ignorant or careless use of imagination and belief. This mechanism of identification, differentiation and desire is the underlying program by which the mind seems to split itself into a multiplicity of apparently conflicting and yet unconsciously cooperating entities or survival drives associated with a symbolic substitution of form and imagined meaning for a direct and indivisible 'knowing'.
Everything discovered about the mechanism has a use in the reawakening of awareness to its true source and nature - when it is realised to be reflective of the mind or wish that calls it forth.
To use the mind as mechanism is to experience and see a mechanical 'world'.
Everything about such an investigation is mechanical and complexity of patterning or fitting together is not a true beauty or meaning just because it can be fascinating.
To release the mechanical bias - and let mind rest into and be purely expressive of its true nature is to "Be still and know that I am God". There is no belief or thought involved in what this points to. It is simply letting truth be as it is and guiding or revealing itself - Instead of indulging an imaginative self sense that determines and seeks to manipulate reality to suit its own self image.
In science and in spiritual enquiry - there is a not altogether unconscious self-seeking - that always works against the true desire of the heart because it is founded on a false sense of self. You are living the experience and feedback to the experiment of activity of thought, judgement, and belief - that is as far from the surface of human awareness as is the Earth's core from a game of cricket.
Yet to observe this, and allow realignment and integration with the truth of what you are, must you release your own thoughts of the meaning you have given them. Don't worry, the truth is never at risk - and illusions are not really here and so cannot be attacked by truth. Confusion is not the original or actual nature of mind - so do not use it as if it speaks fro you.
