On a template propagation page for man made warming in the Independent, salparadise commented with a rant on corporate greed and government collusion, along with the claim that consumers didn't 'do it' but were getting 'the blame'.

I invite you to consider that 'consumer' mentality is exactly the passively managed condition that corporate systems depend on and cultivate. It is exactly the 'weak-mindedness' you deride. But it is actually a strong way of making ourselves weak.

The willingness to 'look the other way' while satisfying one's own 'getting' habit is actually a very active determination to remain unconscious of anything that exposes the nature of one's addictions and dependencies.
Masked fear controls the mind if it has not been owned and integrated - and is extremely ingenious in its disguises, corporate or consumer.
Divide and rule is the split minded way of trying to manage fear. I suggest it actually feeds and propagates the condition it is supposed to manage, while adding a level of helpless or compulsive dependency on external powers - who are essentially invited and employed to take on responsibilities that are not being owned.
Discernment is a heart-connected honesty to which our choices can be aligned. If we do not use it, then we are in effect 'choosing the world' that both supplies and programs our choices.
Whenever the guilt of blame and shame is utilized, the mentality of divide and rule is being employed to bait reaction. It works by reaction.
Debt and guilt are currencies of obfuscation and invalidation. We were/are happy to be the top-dogs while the colonized were denied real development, but now there is great fear of scarcity and so much less pie to go round - so join the Palestinians and live like dogs!
Fear is the common denominator. If we do not own our own fear, we remain conditioned (and manipulated) by it. Fear calls up defence mechanisms - look up the term and notice that our 'normal' consciousness is already in a sense, insane, disconnected, dislocated in split off personality.
A true foundation waits its recognition. While operating from a false self, truth is usurped. So, operate from a true foundation; one that is not coercive upon you.
"They" are us. We see the world through our own consciousness. We cant get rid of what is actually part of us, but we can see it for what it is and make a conscious choice as to whether we use it.
Consciousness responsibility is not an attempt to change the world in order to get something for ourself alone. It is giving the meanings to situations and relationships that is most aligned with the truth of your joy - of your wholeness.
The 'world', lacks our true presence. A true participant meets a different 'world', because one is not feeling deprived or denied. Living FROM wholeness is the art of being rather than seeking it as the artifice of mimicry.

This article reads as a planted propaganda template without scientific integrity.
Climate change is really happening - and has always been happening. Such fundamental change as we are meeting on every level of our consciousness brings up the archetypes of human guilt, and punishment. Scientists are no less human in their attachments, investments and identities than anyone else.
It is not only possible for over 95% to be 'wrong' it is a given - considering the blinkered bias of the human conditioning.
If you let yourself polarize, you are no longer in communication - but reacting defensively to that which does not agree with you.
The use of invalidating language is a weapon, not a communication - and it gives away a masked coercive agenda.
Take the blame, shame coercion out of the communication channel and see what can be seen. The toxic is not 'out there' - it is the active desire to see the other as guilty or invalid. Self-righteousness blinds. It also stinks.

Perhaps... an awakening to the kind of consciousness that perverts all things to its own manipulative agendas, is at hand?

That which has a vested interest in your destabilised, fearful and divided dependence on what it then provides. (Bad cop/good cop).

The term 'myth' is devalued by being used as a substitute for lie, falsehood or error.

But the understanding of the power of myth and symbol in our consciousness is highly developed in those who seek to manipulate perceptions, identities and achieve undue influence thereby. Propaganda is war and PR is it's peacetime epithet. A state of war has been waged within consciousness by the subverting of scientific discoveries to the financial and corporate power structures of our day. But unlike the religious manipulations of the past who coerced populations that they would be free IF they obeyed - in some future state of being, the modern sophistication delivers the belief you are free while choosing to conform to a state of serfdom or slavery. Mindcontrol is the result of understandings of the way human consciousness works, in the hands and intent of the few.

But to be fair I also note that the 'consumer' (so defined and so acting out), DEMANDS unconsciousness, by neglecting and giving away power, to those agencies or corporations that it elects (by its actions) to manage and supply it so as to leave it free to explore and express its 'identity' within the safety net of a reality in which its own consciousness is NOT implicated and therefore all the evils and threats to wellbeing can be painted OUT THERE. Yet this is only a smokescreen for what is feared to be true and which advertising and media examples reinforce relentlessly to those who suck it in.

Unless we get our house in order, it is open to thieves in the night and guests who outstay their welcome and who have no kind intent beneath a veil of 'helping'.

The botnet in digital terms, reflects the infiltration and control of remote servers and computers. The same applies in terms of society. It has been going on as long as manipulators could find the technology to effect it - but technology has advanced way faster than any honest openly shared conscious accounting for its use.

When a scam is uncovered - damage limitation works asap to obfuscate and redirect attention. The true scale of the scam against populations is fearfully mind-buckling and THAT is why there is such a deep urge to UNCONSCIOUSNESS! But that only plays into fear and doesn't allow a shift in perspective in which clear steps of practical self-value make a significant difference.
Without a true and clear self valuing - nothing meaningful can be achieved. But the defensive and segregating attempt to manipulate ones own consciousness is not and cannot be a true foundation - and so it must disintegrate when one no longer has the capacity to prop it up.
But that is Good News - even if not recognized yet.

Your answer would need be more than the next level in the hierarchy : to reveal who is at the top. Power is concentrated in the hands of the powerful.  Nations are not the power or the entity that popular imagination supposes. If freedom is doing what you need to do when you need to do it
then you and I probably have more of it than national governments - who certainly cannot break from the most powerful lobbies without a real groundswell of public suport.

The modern practice of confusion 'packages' and the different faces presented to prospective, actual and migrating customers - speaks of consuming the consumer, does it not?

Business could be a service or product in a marketplace of just dealings and mutual benefit - but it has become a war - or indeed predation upon the population - and designating us as 'consumers' is part of a substitution of a relationship with a mechanism.

Where in all this is government? Where indeed is citizenry?
We are dependent of energy and power to live. The private sector is increasingly operating in a 'free' market - that is a market in which the biggest corporations are free to engage in parasitical practices. But then they are of the same consumptive getting mentality as the general populations - excepting to be higher up the 'food chain'.

Darwin has been grossly misinterpreted. Survival of the fittest is not an individualistic supremacy of control - but a fitting with one's total environment - including each other. Our ills are all emanating from the beliefs and definitions that we found ourselves upon. A negative sense of self cannot and does not 'fit in' but undermines, exploits, manipulates and seeks to control.

To find a more cooperative society demands a cooperative consciousness and this has to dawn on an individual level as preferable to predating on and being predated upon. The consciousness of humanity is split off from awareness of its true power source and therefore fearfully seeking to grab it or build defence against having it grabbed back.

As a metaphor for the relationship of corporate interest cultivating a consumer mentality as an expression of passively fed freedom or happiness or protection or any other attribute of Life. We are mentally becoming not only like our factory farmed animals and monocultured crops - we are becoming like the machine mind that underlies such an approach to Life.
But the key is not in the persons or corporate entities alone - but a pervasive thinking that is invisible because it is presumed true. And yet its symptoms and reflections in our world are WRIT LARGE and presenting a complexity of problem that cannot be resolved within the terms of our thinking - no matter how much blame is shifted around and how much is sacrificed in token redistributions of power.

An exploitative intent is accepted into the foundations of our thinking and has been divinely (and then scientifically) sanctioned (although neither makes religious or scientific sense). 'Getting mind' is not a true foundation for either.

To prevail upon - to prey upon - is to be preyed upon. By the very desire and attempt to force our will, we make that power real to our own mind - which as mind is not in fact outside the laws of Mind - whatever it may think it is.

But to accept and receive Life is to open to a quality of wholeness in which giving and receiving are unified - NOT separated into getting and losing - and then distributed competitively so as to pass the parcel by force or guile upon that which is called 'other' or 'not mine'.

EVERYTHING that comes from a loveless and manipulative intent undermines our peace, our commonwealth, our health, our true culture and our world. This is NOT what our ego wants to hear or allow because it fears loss of control and wants you to believe you are helpless  - or nothing - without it. (Quite the reverse is true!).

Laws of man can align with and support the law of the heart - but cannot substitute for it. One cannot use law as a lever to override free will, though it can inhibit the excess or extremities of lawless behaviour so as to maintain conditions in which the law of the heart can awaken.

If the heart is denied honour and true expression, then the spin of the mind takes us from our wholeness in exchange for 'powers'. But as is plain to see these powers render us addictively dependent, locked into their demands and indentured to the system of thinking upon which the whole thing rests!

A prodigal wasteland is the environment - both within and as reflected without - in which the memory of a Wholeness of being stirs. It is not another 'inheritance' from the yet Living, to exploit, but a restoration to Sanity.

The willingness to 'serve in my Father's House', is a symbol. You could express it in non religious terms as coming back into true relation with your being, and all relations that express that being.

The extremities of our time make ever more demand for justifying all things in terms of agreed money instead of true wealth. Midas didn't expect it to turn out quite like this!

Law comes from the heart. Discernment is not a mechanical process that can be weighted and rigged to become a system of control.

Unless one acts and communicates from an awakened responsibility as Life - then the culture of caring becomes replaced with perceptions and definitions of 'caring'.

Anyone who cared can soon see that most processed food is like the thinking that passes as thinking these days. You can huddle in the 'safety' of the herd or you can accept responsibility for your own thought and intent.

The herd may be shepherded by Divine Will - despite the appearance and effect of wolves wolves in sheep's clothing. But to a situation in which awakening is called for - and not to a meaningless machine of death with added vitamins in easy cook bags. But it isn't the thing that is 'evil' - but the unconscious intent that grows from the blind programming of 'getting'.

What has advertising become? What does it give and what does it cost?

Is it not a propaganda war of coercive corporate intent in fighting for 'mindshare', and branding  and yet united in broadcasting a culture of consumption to a population that is incessantly implanted with false associations, in order to condition and trigger reactions deemed favourable to private interests?

This tool for Corporate intent upon a passive population is yet a kind of protection racket upon smaller independent business, who must pay dearly for minimal visibility. It also corrupts our media such that it becomes an extension of such intent rather than a true service of information.

'The century of the self' by Adam Curtis (freely available on youtube)  gives an overview of the growth of an insidious intent in our cultural development.

The nature and role of advertising, like so much else that undermines a the true wealth and health must be seen for what it is - and in the context of what life truly is and how it works.

The mindset of prevailing upon each other, in identification with an exploitive GETTING mode - no matter how 'balanced' the 'free market' is supposed to be, (look at the balance of competing interests!!!), can never serve anything but to hollow us out and strip our assets for a short term cash that evaporates.

There is a lawful mode of communication that honours the worth of the other and thereby keeps it for oneself and shares value. As long as we consent and subscribe to be treated as targets for a blatant manipulative disregard - so will such behaviour - and the mindset beneath it, violate and undermine the peace. For it does.

A true balance of interest is of a shared purpose in common. Divide and rule has ever been the mindset of deception, using false promise and instilling or promoting fear as a means to gain entry and become your 'guide and protector'.

Those who effectively own the financial system are advertising their guidance and protection to governments and nations, leading them into slavery and impotence of debt and ever deeper entanglement in a web that cannot be escaped while deception passes as true.

The call is for the honesty of heart that first acknowledges the disease of addiction and seeks above all else to uncover the discernment of true relation.This is not the result of ingenious thinking or problem solving, but of insight, wisdom and true dedication and commitment to a greater purpose than private self interest. As long as we look to others for this - we are deceived.
We must look to others as an opportunity for extending worth, growing trust and in a shared appreciation.

No juggling or conjuring of billions or trillions of money can buy a true foundation, but only serves to delay acknowledging the false.
The voice for fear is very loud now - but only proportionate to the desire and attention with which we feed it.

Meeting in shared values, or private deceits? The marketplace

10 charges that make consumers scratch their heads, relates to the use of confusion as part of a war of business upon the mind of so called consumers. (I feel the term consumer itself is part of that same war, as we are participants in a relationship and are not defined by imposed analysis)

I don't feel to focus on symptoms so much as look at the underlying causes.

The marketplace embodies a relationship expressing a sense of value shared, but true value been lost to a state of war waged with deception and a manipulative intent; A desire for personal or private gain that disregards real relationships, is lawless, undermining of trust, and blindly destructive, as it hollows out our culture, and promotes fear and guilt as the motivators and guides of both identity and action.

Living human beings are consenting to being conditioned or programmed into domesticated passive consumers so as to be milked, in exchange for a sense of temporary security that has to be constantly maintained against an increasingly fearful sense of life.

The mentality of both corporate and consumer, as the to intent to control and prevail as a separate entity, pervades modern life as an attempt to 'get' without any relational sense of giving and receiving - that is - without honouring life at all. Instead it manually enacts the processing of material and emotional transactions, by the ticking of check boxes in templates designed to meet targets that substitute for a tangible fulfilment. Humanity acting in the image and likeness of our own machines.

Standards and rights that have become legally quantified and defined as part of protecting health and safety have also become another raft of weapons in war of self-interest or part of the blind machinery of law that cannot be implemented with proportionate discernment and discretion because, as law, its bluntness must be suffered by all. The soulless nature of modern society and business is both a cause and an effect of a pernicious selfishness that is blindly unaware of its lack of true basis, or the pattern of short term high followed by long term pain, in joylessness of being entangled in attempt to manage loss, rather than share life.

Milking 'the system', is made normal by all kinds of spin of self justification or tacit collusions but the system is not a merely system of mechanical processes so much as serving needs that are tangible and felt and an inherent expression of a relational dependency that we share as an inherent aspect of our nature and being.

In the imaginative attempt to be ourself separate, autonomous and worthy or powerful in our own right, we cut ourselves off from the wisdom, love and connected peace of our true being, and substitute a mutually defined sense of ourselves and the world, that we experience and suffer as real; to be manipulated or overcome or perfected according to our own judgements.

The 'way out' from a falsely framed situation is firstly to identify or recognize it, and then to refuse to act out from it as a foundation. In the lack of a manipulative or personal reaction, there is the space of awareness to feel the wholeness and presence of life rather than think apart. From this comes a capacity to listen and communicate that actually communicates shared value, rather than enacting war or grievance. That can address a failure of communication with a restoration of communication, rather than with blame and hatred and righteousness of self.
Sharing a sense of value is the nature of our being, and yet if we give that value to what is itself unreal, we multiply nothing at the expense of sharing something real.

The marketplace as a meeting place and upholder of culture is being lost to mechanism. Life to logistics and processing of data. This calls for waking up at a fundamental level, for our thinking itself is being conformed to a souless, joyless and manipulative - but false - foundation.
There is infinitely more to life than such thinking allows or experiences. Abundance arises of a freedom and generosity of spirit. Our collective bankruptcy is but a reflection of the mind by which we are deceived. See it and drop it! Be renewed of a different foundation and serve a truly heart-felt purpose. Shift from problem based thinking to love based thinking; the love that is simply a unified expression through being ourselves, together.

Corporate mind = consumer mind. What is missing from this is reality.
Reality is participation and relationship.
The divide and rule mentality is one with guilt and fear - and can easily trigger and manipulate its subscribers with false righteousness or fear of loss.

In this case Jobs gave a succinct answer based on the consciousness of the times and its resultant trends.
Nations are identities of perception that run as a virtual mind and become assigned different functions by the PURPOSE that is active in the world mind.

My primary point is that not unlike a botnet, we are all hooked up by default into a mind that accepts private self interest, fear and guilt, as the power that rules our own perceptions. So it isn't surprising that we find this reflected in our world.
To uncover the reflections in the world of action, that reflect the values of the mind in secret, is disturbing, dissonant and usually we want to cover over or escape those feeling asap!
But to really allow awareness in, one has to put down the judge, the blaming and excommunicating of the heart.
In the world, do what the current level of awareness allows with what trust and care as can be found - but don't be programmed by your own thinking unless you really have discerned the Source of a Unified Consciousness - in which case there's no need to think so much as share, in whatever ways are your ways and the ways of those you meet.
Whenever the source of trouble seems to be (exclusively) External to our mind - there is a payoff going on in secret. Yes the secret 1%!
What is reflected is a map to our own mind - IF - you are willing to step outside of a self protectiveness that - hasn't protected you, that uses you, and your relationships - in your name!
There is an Already Wholeness available as guidance and as our awakening - but it is not 'out there'. The world of perception is designed to distract attention from Wholeness of Being, which is the only thing really going on - but is being used by a way of thinking that covers it over and makes us alien to our own Self.
I don't ask for believing, just for questioning down to the very roots.
Insanity demands a radical re evaluation - and insanity is not the means to conduct that task!

Google and Bing accused of helping illegal music downloads

Google and Bing create 'algorithms' to filter results that are supposed to serve the searcher AND the provider of content. These are studied or inferred by those seeking to manipulate their position and lead to the the distortion of service.
The 'algorithms' are periodically updated to shake off such manipulations - such as are deemed unwanted by Google/Bing.

The process is not accountable or transparent. While it mostly works, we tend to simply use it and work around or through its frustrations.

If an opaque organisation engages in censoring results for criminal or copyright matters, it can also do so for political or social and economic matters.

The game of cat and mouse with file sharing will not end by simply blocking results from Google and Bing - even if such were possible.

There is a common interest in legal content holders and distributors in creating search portals and trusted portal sites where integrity of content can join with a mutually valuing relationship with those who value such work.

Some of the reaction against the legal models is of a sense of being milked by business interests that have absolutely no concern with any real relationship beyond their own corporate profits.

The potential of the internet is of receiving abundant return on micropayments. Because millions are involved in the movement of attention, and the old models of distribution are attempted, and circumvented.

The integrity of the net is something to be engineered into it, because by default it is serving dis-integrated interests. If micropayment - and I mean MICRO - was made for the act of attention to content or resource - then there would be a basis of funding that is free of advertising and corporate interest.

The posturing of morality is generally hypocritical - and is attempting to use coercive means to get others to abide by a set of rules that they may not otherwise adopt or conform to. But the desire to create a system that is just, uncoercive and fair is sane - though the nature of a system is organisational and the nature of the heart is integrative.

To do only those things that focus on and promote the good the beautiful and the true, might achieve more than reacting against those things that seem to break in and upset the rules.

Making war on dr*gs or t*rror or anything else for that matter - is an indicator of a mind in reaction, that does not see the real nature of what is occurring - but only its own fearful interpretations - which it validates by reenactment.

When any private interest holds the gate or the key - corr*ption follows. Checks and balances should not tie us down, but should be able to effectively pause, examine and discern the movement of health, and be able to act on its behalf.

Trust, is the expression of integrity and a disintegrated society is one in which trust is no longer consciously valued, shared or even accorded reality.

Nothing of our living but is of a total dependence on Power beyond our compass of imagination. Trust is our most fundamental response to Existence.

Everyone makes mistakes - but if I were making Apple's policy I would dictate that the prototype phone should not have been allowed out in public - and only booked out for job specific needs - such as to show to other related business leaders. This would not include using it out of work for personal use.I don't know the actual policy - or the level of trust and responsibility that the worker was employed to fulfil.
As for who gives a flying hoot about the rapid and currently unfolding development of an emerging mobile connectivity that is far beyond 'a phone' - well - HELLO? - or who gives a moment to a such a predicament as this hapless worker's, regardless of the interest or not in the content of the disclosures?

Personally I would forgive anyone who repents of an act made in error - but that doesn't mean I would continue to support a mentality that is liable to error. Mistakes are great - if humiliating - ways to learn how better to live. Blame and shame is a refusal to learn anything except a righteous disregard for a greater perspective than one's own.

Industrial consumerism has encouraged a mentality of identifying with or against products and brands that is a mere vanity and the manipulation of such consumers is a way of milking the herd, and the competition to be in a position of what is effectively mind control - is fiercely contested.

However, even through such a seemingly chaotic process - the new technology unfolds and extends for better and for worse - changing the way we live and - I believe - the way we perceive the world.

It is not in Apple's interest generally to have such leaks and Apple - does - push the development of technology even if it may not maintain dominance once the market develops.
