The Meaning of Meteors

What is the significance of such events? One can say there isn't any if one accepts one's own consciousness to be without any significance. But conscious awareness is a significance because it is awareness OF something. The significance can be determined according to a database of experience based on values and interpretations of the past or it can be free association in the movement of awareness itself. The former seeks to lock down events into defined meanings and mappings so as to gain control over phenomena. IE; so as not to hurt again like one has before. The latter is more akin to Adam walking in the Garden, simply because a creative expression is felt, and recognized as one with oneself. This doesn't write out very well in conceptual terms because concepts are the very mapping definitions or mutually agreed meanings from which the world experience is derived.
That apparently random events occur is merely to acknowledge the limitation of our own awareness of the patterning and informing cause behind and yet through all event.
We ARE affected by symbol because it DOES speak an archetypal language of Mind - albeit beneath the rationalizing superstructure that makes a lid over the Unconscious and Superconscious alike.
Something breaking through from beyond that is both wonderful and frightening is not merely rock - but MESSAGE.
The message is already in the mind - but the event is a picture of its uncovering. The uncovering of the truth of the apparently material and energetic Universe is itself a picture of a mind uncovering its own Nature from a less limited and limiting perspective. While Mind is 'located' inside a meat-bag - even such an incredibly complex communication device as a human being - it is rendered insignificant or discarded except as a limiting factor in its superficial aspects.
You are not alone, is the same as saying you are not a private mind. This is not what the persona will accept while it is identified as you - for it is the expression of a force of control upon the whole - and therefore has eclipsed the light of its own wholeness. Yet the fragmented experience of self and universe is not de facto - but the result of a focus of attention in action and reaction - in which it becomes 'locked' or fixated.
I couldn't get this into the other article on the 'need to find significance in such events' because comments were closed. But what is significant is relative to the active movement of desire - whether conscious or whether running beneath the surface as subliminal conditioning or desire.

The presence of a capacity to abide in Life - or 'doing nothing'

Manic activity makes for bad government

What is missing in much of modern life is a genuine presence. Instead we have presentations of intent designed to tick the appropriate boxes - a masqerade behind which are arses protected and fences sat upon. A life without conviction or commitment to anything except staying in power. I'm also talking about us all.
The capacity and courage of discernment is to maintain a clear presence whether acting or desisting from mere reaction. This communicates at a different level than propaganda can reach.
However the manic nature of the attempt to manipulate perceptions of reality is at such a pitch that real information is effectively hidden in broad daylight and few can discern the true from the false because of their own self-investments.
Doing nothing is another way of saying doing nothing to interfere with the way Life Works. A constant interference is the way to inhibit or block Life from becoming self-aware as an awakened responsibility. It is also the ignorance of those who play at power or vanity of those who play at dressing up in self-importance!
Wisdom is vanished when man pretends to know. To truly discern, we must pause from reaction - including our best thinking - and listen as an expression of as much honesty as we can trust. Because, it would be absurd to pretend that we are as congruent as our social masks make out.
Trying to be seen to be in control is a pathetic caricature of a puppet-man who strikes at every shadow and makes rules as if to keep xyz from ever happening again - and makes 'war' on the ills so as to appease the self-righteous - so they don't have to look within at the deeper conditions out of which our ills arise as sure as night follows day!
Those who use guilt and blame as leverage - suffer to be split off from their wholeness, for it is true that even as we do unto (the least) others - so do we unto our very self.
Control mentality is a sham for both sides of the apparent transaction. True harmony arises from values truly embodied and shared as cultural expression. One has to extend trust to find trust is met. But that first requires that one HAS it. It starts with our own true relations within ourself and extends out automatically.
The age of man's conquering life is passing - though not without the last attempts to control via biotech and psychotechnical means.
There's nothing like deep sickness of a sense of a poisoned Soul to bring wretchedness to awareness. If it is brought to light a correction will be found but while we do so much to push it down! and keep it pushed down! - we hide from the sickness and the cure in endless complications of self defeating efforts.
I can not convince the mind that lives only on the surface to question its world as a mere surface - but a wretchedness of meaninglessness in a conflicted and conditioned perpetuity can - and will.
Those who can abide in life can be a channel through which life communicates in thought, word and deed. Abiding is 'doing nothing to break the connection'. This is a great art - indeed the word abide is of 'being' and art is the true nature of 'to be'.
Much ado about nothing! While we must do what calls for doing, we can look to the spirit in which it is done. We can always align ourselves with or against our true good, by the purpose within which we live.

Out of our Nature - out of our mind!

David Attenborough: most of the world's population are out of touch with the natural world - an article in the Telegraph

It is even more true to say most are unaware of their true nature. The 'world outside' is simply replicating our inner mindscape. Change the mind and you WILL see differently!
The defining and rationalizing commentary mind is not in touch with nature - but with a distorted and filtered virtual mapping of Life. Of course we are not really IN our virtual reality - no matter the forms and ascribed meanings of our experience - but are direct expressions of Life or Mind.
"Be still and know God" is a bit like 'shut up and listen!
To the 'thinker' such absence of  distraction is an exposure to a  nothingness or a lack of support or soil in which a 'thinker' can maintain itself as if an independent autonomous existence.
BUT whatever our programming, the event of meeting Life in a wild creature has a deep recognition or stirring and a sense of wonder and blessing.
Wilderness and the Natural world speaks of a time and place unspoilt by human thinking and is therefore 'medicinal' to our own need to release the crap we accumulate that covers over and pollutes our awareness.
To worship nature is a mistake - though to recognize and worship Life in anything and everything is to undo a mistaken self-separateness.
There's room for scientific endeavour, but if there is not a true relationship within our own mind - then it follows as night follows day, that we will be untrue in all our relations.

The scientific fear is that we are nothing in a meaningless and yet often awe inspiringly beautiful Universe - and yet by some freak are clever enough to know it - and to hide within the 'uncovering of truth' as if it gives meaning and purpose to otherwise ignorant lives.
The religious fear is that we are rendered nothing or even damned by a God that we have in some way failed, polluted, rebelled against or sinned such as to deserve death and punishment.

But fear is a mind at war with itself and any thinking that comes from a basis of fear is itself a conflicted and therefore self defeating.
To get in touch with your own Nature is to release your current definitions and extend trust that what is true, reveals itself to you - not from your database of past experience but as a currently felt discernment. There is in this movement, the awareness of an essential innocence and sanctity of being that is not particular or personal - but is simply true of one and all.

Hard to believe? I say beyond belief - and in fact is freely available as we release our investment in self serving beliefs of whatever kind. This is because the wilful coercive intent IS the lens and identification with conflicted being. Control mind is NOT your true nature but don't take my word for it. Get in touch directly.

(Extra comment in reply to another)

Nor are we equipped to until we are ready to step outside of a 'managed reality'. This isn't just corporate intent - but a demand for unconsciousness as an ongoing temporary 'answer' to unfaceable  or intolerable difficulty - though to be sure - humiliation is NOT unfaceable. We are as if trapped in our own thinking which - if you think on that - is absurd! Yet we ARE capable of being conditioned so as to effectively be trapped within thinking that suggests or insinuates a fearful and unworthy and impotent sense of self.

People who have a direct relational appreciation of the 'Good' have a responsibility to recognize it, honour it and share it - as a living  Culture. The alternative is cultural decay, wherein what once held actual value is now but lip service or mere propaganda.

Man domesticated the natural world but lost the sense of the source and nature of his place within it, and now predatory man farms and exploits via the programming of consumer man and jobsworth man so as to strip out all living assets and lay all to waste. Predatory man is an idea in which we identify. It can be seen as a sort of addictive habit that is NOT hardwired into Original Mind - yet IS a fundamental of our (current) human consciousness.

The theology of a superficial rendering of Darwinian perspectives - taken to an absurd extent - has rendered us largely passive and impotent to function except as managed and controlled - excepting a very few who play the role of the predator or controller.

Protest may not be the most helpful option - for every action brings reaction. Speaking truth to power is from a different source than reaction. It honours others with something worthy - and not as a subtler manipulation. Waking up to a better way comes from joining in a truly shared purpose and not merely shifts in power from one group to another. To honour life requires we put down our self righteous masks and listen more honestly than we have ever dared before.

(And a video recommendation to a comment that sees a baby being bitten by a fox as proof of nature being a thing to stay out of touch with)
