Andrew Stephenson:
What are the most important things we have learned this year? I would choose from the following:
1) Provided all the media present the same message, people will believe what is said - especially when any dissent is ridiculed, delisted and shamed.
2) Right or Populist governments are happy to pursue a Left/Green agenda if it offers them the chance to look like strong authoritarian leaders.
3) The combination of fear and stringent penalties will ensure compliance however absurd the rules or however nasty the consequences
4) The content is irrelevant. The public will allow you to crash the economy even over a flu virus of similar potency to at least three others in the last twenty-five years
5) The group-think and lack of critical thinking of leaders throughout the western world is endemic - something we used to accuse others of.
6) When the right deliver and the left/greens nod on happily, there is no opposition, no checks and balances, no restraint
6) Lockdowns, masks, social distancing don't work - so of course we must have more of them. Only a covidiot would think this is intended to stop us meeting as a group to analyse current events
7) Almost as an aside, those endless vacuous media and communication courses of the last three decades intended to promote critical thinking in the media have clearly failed.
What useful knowledge this provides as a template - should our leaders choose a new campaign in the future - against the oil industry, China, alcohol sales; in favour of biochips, vaccines, social credit accounts........
Have I missed anything?
The world is not what I thought it was, nor what I think it to be, but what I think will frame my perception and response, and it is here that I have freedom to reevaluate who and what I am, what life is, and the purpose I am currently embodying.
I can appreciate the list by the way, but it represents the mind-trap in a way that persists the mind-trap. To what degree does deceit need our mind to operate?
And to what degree do I allow my mind to support it in ways that I am unaware because it gives me identity that I run as if to become free, or protected, or profit by.
Fear can split the mind such that the split is projected or externalised and the fear protected. Looking at the mind-in-act is the opening of a transparency to what runs beneath the mask rather than operating from or as the mask.
Denied fear, masks in control as if gaining power and protection - while giving power of protection to the masking as a cover over a sense of self-lack, and to frame its critical exposure as threat of attack in cherished grievance from which to justify a pre-emptive attack of denying communication and relationship.
This may take pondering but it points not just to how the dissociation from a shared reality is effected, but to the human conditioning.
There is a fundamental self-splitting in the denial and projection of fear onto others and world, that is in the foundation of the world we then live. As the scramble of a survival imperative, we did whatever we had to do. But in arriving at our starting place do we know it for the first time?
Critical thinking is in my view the capacity to pause judgemental reaction or identification and look t or evaluate and recognise the though that is running - for as the new 'sowing and reaping' phrase runs; Garbage in; garbage out.
What would you let into your heart, accept as your mind and become the currency of exchanging? Critical discernment is more to the point, for thinking serves the purpose we give it - unless left unattended. To be phished is to be taken in by appearances, triggered by identifications running on false premise that passes off as true.
My invitation is to a re-education not merely with regard to our world - whatever that is - but a reintegration of our own mind to the truth of our being. Which is not found in critical thinking so much as aligned in as the basis for a critical discernment of truth from vested illusions.
To know the truth of what we are aligning in and from is to know our purpose, and this shall serve the release of conflicting purposes that give rise to a world of fear, struggle and guilt, seeking always to overcome and escape it to the 'other' as the means to save their 'self'.
If we miss something fundamental to our results, the persisting of negative or incongruous results will bring us to question the parameters or premises that we are running. We all have our own timing and ways as to when and how we look within as a willingness to heal rather than judge and yet we are all in a sense entangled in the 'world' of masking.
Release and be released remains a practical truth that waits on willingness.
It is not the persons of the roles being enacted that are a true authority or agent of change, but the underlying patterns of relational exchange.
In biology, this would match with terrain theory.
The pathogenic model is a psycho-pathic projection.
But I have neen addressing the psycho-pathy as a split and dissociating fear, pain and hate - cast out away from a saved sense of control.
A world run by 'psycho-pathy' is founded in projected denial as its 'common core' or 'common purpose'. But joining in fear, and hate and guilted moralism is no real joining at all, but only an illusion of a narrative or masking identity that demands sacrifice of love and life to maintain your 'safety and protection'.
WHO told you you were naked? (in need of covering over, armouring, boosting, and diverting resource from life to war)
Who told you you -BUT- the voice for fear?
To look at fear without recoil is to be free to look past it.
This is not the same as a weapon or strategy.
Put down the 'sword' of judgement.
At least to discern truly the movement of your heart and mind in act.
