Evil works through those who cling to the mask of virtue.
They are not evil, but fear and hate of evil gives power to the mask as for 'protection' this runs the protection racket.
If you get this it goes down to the roots of what we call consciousness.

The error is externalising fears - which then condition the mind that tries to fight, eradicate or deny and control them externally.

The thought we accept gives rise to the way we see our life, our world , each other. Likewise to above, the attempt to deny and suppress thoughts, gives them power over us.
Whatever we accept and live from as true, goes forth and multiplies.
In Orwellian terms a doublethink of conflicted thought - that Jesus calls a house divided - seeks to mask as a narrative unity that is self-contradictory and therefore self-destructive.

So as our own free willingness in our own timing, we can stop 'breeding' thoughts or ways of thinking that are self-destructive, and become more discerning of the word and thought that truly holds and reflect value. This mat invite or extend as a witness that you may at some level pick up on because it is no longer trying to demand you be whatever that particular groupthink implies. On the other hand this may make you more aware of a masking in groupthink that you didn't know was in place - because it was your normal. But in time that will be the basis for the freedom to let it fall away as not you.

Evil is a derivative. If we hide truth for our mask of illusion, then evils will arise as our experience and can reinforce guilt, hate and vengeance, in fact the whole box of Pandora - which is a Pandemonium (place of all demons).

The key is not to react but to truly align from which to hold the conditions in which masking self-illusions are not given recognition as currency. hence Jesus would say 'get thee behind me' to friends who flattered him. the point being he chose not to let them take root by reaction.

Back to your thread, it is an irony that the Malthusian idea of improving the stock mutated into the mass poisoning of humanity at both psychic and physical levels.
Few are aware of the degradation and desecration of the Human Spirit - because the 'normal' is progressively ratcheting down, while the narrative re-tells 'history' as the support for the current narrative dictate. It's clear that it is a dictate when one seeks to openly question its gatekeepers.

We either learn through this whole experience - as a civilisation or species, or we reset to the repetition of the same cycle. But while transhumanism is associated with machine intelligence processing, transcendence is the capacity to recognise a pattern from a new place so as to open a choice that was not available within the script. This dimension of growth is an expansion that has no real linear translation into the human drama - ie - it is out of range of mental-machine thinking (whether technologically enhanced or not).
