To the extremely pessimistic

The way you frame  and what you focus in is indeed extremely pessimistic.
Until you change your mind, you have the result or reward it gives you.
Fear works division in the mind. It may not seem to be fear because it masks in being right. Fear gives reality to your world, and you are getting what you wanted. Breakdown of the Natural Order is the split mind of it replacement with sin - or self-illusion given priority over life and truth and of course Self!
Look at History. Billions died horribly! And did horrible things.
But while you can cast your net to bring whatever to choose present, you cannot make the false true. Narratives are always 'creation myths' at some level as an account and reinforcement for who you currently want to be.
The word present is derived from the word presence. There is a world of difference between a coercive or persuasive presentation and simple presence.

The focus on present as a means to release self-illusion to a true presence is a basis to live from, rather than towards, and so is a basis for the extension of a present appreciation rather than running in mis-identification that frames and focuses us in sacrificing presence for something we are driven to get or driven to get away from, by narrative dictates running a script from the past.

You can choose to live the life you have in a way that honours who and what you are - rather than frame in guilt, fear and seemingly-righteous judgements that are really playing god with ideas and getting off on them. We do not know more than is given us to know within the moment at hand, and the attempt to define life as a means to control our experience is the wrong end of the stick.
Hateful experience brings on hateful reaction. A bad workman blames his tools. Blaming the mind is acting as if some part of it has split off or aligned in an oppositional and alien 'will'. Casting out the mind is a narrative by which to become invested in our own spin, and protect the investment by buying more time, introducing process of diversion and delay.
Life has cyclic periodic and spiralling fractal patterns and yet we do not go back so much as revisit from a new perspective. A spiral can contract to its centre or expand and really both are active at once.
We are in a time of great compression. Coming to the end of a cycle is associated in our invested narratives with fear, of pain of loss - and death. But in Nature is the refining of the harvest of all that has been lived to its essence or seed. As human beings we are the capacity to choose our own thinking rather than listen in with the movement of our being. The first operates a filtering distortion of the latter and renders Everything, in terms of self-imaged and can lock down and mask in the physical of objecting limitation to which we then seem to be subject, because we WANTED the experience it opened. Yet the dream of what we thought we wanted can turn to nightmare from which there seems no escape.

Self-illusion is temporary, but runs by passing off as true. Therefore a reality that is true runs beneath the filtering distortions of the narrative 'personifiction' in which we are deeply habituated, or running as a default habit. This means you are not really a fiction seeking to become real, but quite literally a current expression of Infinity through the lens of ideas made tangible. As is everyone you meet - regardless the personae we project and react to in place of recognising their presence.

Life in the world is one day at a time!
Live this day well by attending and engaging the moment at hand, and be gentle but firm with habits of thinking that scatter attention in conflicted thinking which, if you notice it, does not serve your true desire now.
